Madison County is proud to be selected for the White House’s TechHire program on behalf of WNC.

Through this program we will be able to take advantage of special offers, partnerships, grant funds, and trainings offered only to the TechHire community. So far we’ve experienced excellent training sessions and an amazing deal on a coding bootcamp through Tech Talent South. We have what it takes to provide tech companies with their staffing needs and will continue to use this program to fill local skills gap for our employers.  The TechRamp will allow Madison County to work in schools to showcase the various career opportunities in technology and what educational resources they will need along the way. As part of this Tech Hire Program, Madison County is partnering with Tech Talent South to offer a code immersion camp. This camp will begin March 13th and last for 8 weeks. As part of this we are exctited to offer a discount of 50% for people participating in our program.

So what is TechRamp Madison?

It is a collaborative public‐private partnership to develop and retain software coders and other techonolgy driven talent in our region.  We have forged a coalition made up of two area colleges, a fast‐growing software coding academy in downtown Asheville, regional leaders, and several private employers. This group is building a program that will connect local software development talent to the global IT market, while giving the participants the ability to remain in Madison County.

Who’s involved?

Madison County had began discussions with one of the nation’s fastest growing software coding academies, Tech Talent South , to build a custom training program that would give participants the added boost needed to get a software development job.  They contacted two private firms who specialize in staffing solutions for the technology industry to help build the curriculum. They involved AB Tech and Mars Hill University in further shaping the program and its delivery to their student bases.
